Film Festival Circuit

On July 17, 2012, in News & Updates, by admin

The very first film fest entry for “From Hell to Here”!

Now that the post-production phase of From Hell to Here is complete we are moving on to the next leg of the journey for this project — film festivals and distribution!  This next phase will be a long road that lasts over a year with festival dates ranging from early September all the way to July of 2013.  We have entered the film into festivals all over the country and we are crossing our fingers that we get into a few! I will, of course, keep you posted via this website and the film FB page on any and all film festivals we get accepted into. And I hope that if the film gets into a festival near you, you will come out and support us when the film screens! And, if you have a From Hell to Here t-shirt please wear it to the screening.  If you want one, you can purchase one on the right hand side of this page!

In addition to film festivals, it has always been my plan to create a discussion guide to go along with the film.  I have been working closely with Dr. John Mundt, a VA psychologist out of Chicago, on a series of discussion questions aimed at mental health practitioners and veterans themselves. Included in this packet will also be a list of symptoms, facts, and “tips on witnessing” for caregivers and family members of veterans.  This is a valuable tool in helping to engage and encourage discussion and conversation about the invisible wounds of war. If you are interested in finding out more about the discussion guide and how to obtain a copy, please feel free to email me at any time at Info@FromHelltoHereFilm.com. The discussion guide will likely be completed by the end of August 2012.

Please continue to spread the word about the film. Your support is invaluable at this stage of the process. Now is the time we need as many eyes to see the website and as many clicks on the FB page as we can get! The more publicity and traction we can get the better chance the film has of being seen and furthering the conversation. And that is our main goal. So please share this post, share the website and share the FB page with friends, family and co-workers!

Forever grateful,

Rachell Shapiro
